Distance Learning Resources

To support our families while we’re in the midst of Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL), we’ll be sharing resources here that we hope will help! We’ll be adding more resources as the school year progresses.

CURBSIDE LIBRARY AND BOOK BUS (BOOK BUS ENDS MARCH 17TH)

Tiger’s Curbside Library is now only on Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on the school porch.

Here are all the ways you can get a book from the Raleigh Park Library.

Questions? Email Mrs. Lowe, Raleigh Park Library Media Assistant (LMA) at Judy_Lowe@beaverton.k12.or.us

RALEIGH PARK ELEMENTARY COUNSELING RESOURCES — WELLNESS RESOURCES

Tricia Howery, Raleigh Park’s counselor, works directly with our families who need external resources to help ensure they have all their needs met. Her website includes information in English and Spanish. You can also contact her directly at 503-356-2504 or tricia_howery@beaverton.k12.or.us.

Our students are learning how to build a happier and more caring society during their time with our school counseling team. Here are some resources Mrs. Lee and Ms. Howery shared with us:

HELPFUL HINTS FOR DISTANCE LEARNING

Jason Webber, an online educator, Raleigh Park PTO board member, and Raleigh Park parent, shares these tips for navigating distance learning:

  1. YOU ARE NOT THE TEACHER. If you are needing help with something, ask your child’s teacher. That’s what they are there for.

  2. Take a break! If something isn’t going well, it’s okay. No one can be successful if they are already mad or overwhelmed.

  3. Set up a routine. Kids need a routine. Try and stick to that schedule as best as you can. (This includes a consistent bedtime!)

  4. Get dressed! Yes, it’s fun to have a PJ Friday or something, but if you and your kids are starting the day and set to do something, you will be more productive.
